I am glad to say that I grew up in a safe neighborhood. Actually, almost everyone in that place knew each other. When I have a family of my own, I would make sure that we live in a place free of people that cannot be trusted especially the sexual predators. I may not be active when it comes to sports but I like watching them a lot. Growing up with a father, and 2 brothers that enjoys watching these games, I became familiar with them too. So when they talk about record-breaking events in basketball (which is by the way the most popular sports here in my country), I also come to know about it. From what we always talk about, it was in '97 that Tiger Woods became the youngest masters champ in record and barrier breaking fashion in the golfing world. She was able to win her third consecutive European all-around title in 1979, becoming the first gymnast, male or female, to achieve the feat. Well, I was not a fan of Celtics but I do remember watching how they won the 2008 NBA Championship title. Another thing that interest me is tennis. I have seen the games played by Andre Aggasi and Pete Sampras. But most of all, among us Filipinos, what we would truly remember is Manny Pacquiao's every winning game.

Easy Way of Adding Favicon to Blogger

Finally, I am able to upload a favicon to my site.If you are wondering what my favicon is, well, that's my picture. I can't help being a narcissist. hehe

For those who are not familiar with favicon, it is the little icon that appears next to the web address at the top of your browser. It also appears in your browser' tabs and bookmarks.

I have always wanted to add a favicon but when I am doing the process, I get stuck on a step where I have to find a site that will host the Favicon for me. What happens is, some of them would not recognize an .ico file. But I was able to find IconJ.

Here's the process of creating a personalized favicon:

1. Go to IconJ and upload the picture from your computer.
2. You can either Download the file and host it somewhere but I think it's much easier to just let IconJ host it for you. After you upload the file, you can just copy the code and simply paste it to your template.
3. Log in to your blogger account. Go to Layout and Click on Edit Html.
4. Word of caution (Back up your template before you change it, just in case something happens...)

Search for the word "title",

Right after the code above, paste the code you copied from IconJ.

5. Save template and voila, you should now be able to see that cute favicon of yours.

Entrecard Dropping Woes

Last night, I was suppose to attend to my usual Entrecard dropping routine but Firefox was acting up! I cannot log in to my Entrecard account. I waited for my sister to come online. She told me that she had started dropping EC's. That means that problem was not with the Entrecard site but my computer, specifically the browser. My suspicion was right, I tried using Internet Explorer but I am not used to it, hence, I was doing it very slowly that I was losing patience. What I did was, I tried to reinstall Firefox. Thankfully, that fixed the problem but I was too sleepy to start dropping for my other sites. So today, I have to wake up early to continue my blogging task! :)

I thought of relaxing the other night by getting a copy of a Korean movie recommended to me by a good friend. It was not pirated copy so I was confident all throughout that I would be able to finish the movie without the disk encountering a problem. I was watching "My Wife is a Gangster". It's a funny movie and I was laughing really loud while munching my fave snacks. When it was time for me to watch the second disk, I was surprised that the movie suddenly stopped at the middle part. I thought there was just an error with the computer. So I tried again but it was not working. I was telling myself, this can't be! It's an original copy. Naturally, my mood was ruined because I was not able to see the ending.

It's a good thing that I tried searching the movie in YouTube. My disappointment vanished in an instant. There's a video of the movie and it was shown by parts. I started watching the 8th out of 12th part. Thanks Youtube! If only I have known, I would just have watched the movie at that site instead of getting an original copy (that failed to work).

I drop Entrecard everyday (with my sister's help), but I rarely reach the 300 per day limit. But today, I was able to do so with one of my blogs. I felt a sense of accomplishment when I saw that I was able to complete 300 drops. I maintain 3 blogs and it's not easy to complete 300 drops per blog. Most of the time, I only limit the other two to 150 drops per day. Being able to commit doing Entrecard drops everyday is not easy especially if your computer is not fast enough. The Power of Now

I started reading Eckhart Tolle's the Power of Now. The first line of the introduction made me stop and think. It says, "I have a little use of the past and I rarely think about it..." I am the type of person who finds it hard to adapt to change, and it takes time for me to let go of the past. A close friend once told me that sometimes, she thinks I am still stuck in the past. Being stuck in the past would make a person have a lot of excess baggage. Sometimes, I would think of the past and would still ask myself what went wrong and what could I have done to change the course of the consequences that I am experiencing right now. But the first line of the book made me realize that the past should be left where it is suppose to be - in the past. Thinking about it now and beating yourself up for the things you did and things that you did not do won't change a thing in the present.

I hope I would have the time to finish the book. I feel that I would get a lot of positive insights from it.

Yesterday, I went to see this movie with my friend. We have been complaining for weeks now because it seems that there are no movies to look forward to. Actually, they have started showing this film weeks ago but we never paid attention to it. But due to lack of other interesting films to watch, we opted to see this one. Oh boy, it was fun! We were laughing because we can't help but think that this movie should have been a perfect one to watch with our moms. This musical is really entertaining. Surprisingly, my friend and I are both familiar with the Abba songs. It's not the "in" thing in our generation but we grew up hearing our parents play the songs at home and even sing it.

The cast did a great job. I did not know Meryl Streep can sing that way (it was awesome!!). I was also surprised to see Pierce Brosnan belt out those tunes. Nice movie! :)

I love weekends! Well, it's the only time that I can get to hang out with my friends. I do not see them every weekend but we can get to schedule meeting up at the mall at least twice a month. Thankfully, one of my closest buddies has the time to hang out with me this afternoon. We do not have the so-called night life. What we just do is go to the movies, eat out and update each other with what's happening about each other's life. As if, there's something new (lol)!

It's time for me to put a halt on blogging for now because I have to get ready. The mall is just a stone's throw away from where I live so I do not have any right (or excuse) to be late.

How to Handle Your Baby at the Mall

One thing that my mom always reminds me is that when I am with my child, I should never let him out of my sight especially if we are in a public place, like the mall. When my kid was a few months old, he wants to just run around so what happens is that, I would often have to chase him. Of course, I cannot let him go near the displays and touch them (we might end up paying for it if it gets broken). Good thing, I learned about baby carriers. With these baby slings, you can always have your baby near you, without having to worry that you would lose them out of your site and be picked up by random strangers. From my experience, it was convenient for me, and comfortable for my baby too.

Cups of Coffee

The person I know that's most addicted to coffee is my mom. I think she drinks a minimum of 3 cups of coffee per day. My siblings and I would always tease her that the main reason why she easily gets irritated is because she drinks too much coffee. Honestly, I am not sure if there's even a scientific basis why my siblings and I would often tell her that. My mom would always need her "caffeine" fix. She said it relaxes her, but on the contrary, I think it's has the opposite effect. Coffee is suppose to make you alert and keep you awake.

I am not a coffee drinker but since I have a sweet tooth, there are times that I crave for Mocha Frappuccino. It was all I could think about yesterday. Fortunately, it was raining last night, that's why I started feeling lazy and forgot about going to Starbucks. I live near the mall, so it's hard to just let go thinking of something because I know for a fact it's accessible. Argggh!

Maybe I need my caffeine fix too. See, it's just 9 am here and it's been on my mind since I opened my eyes.

When I go to the mall, I would usually drop by the cd section and look for copy of movies that I could watch. I will get them especially if they are sold at a discounted price. Yesterday, I was deciding between getting a copy of Lake House or Step Up. I opted to go for Step Up. I saw Step Up 2 (The Streets) at the theaters but I never had a chance to saw the first one.

This afternoon, I spent time watching Step Up on my pc. The story revolved around a privileged dancer attending an elite school of the arts in Maryland and an ordinary guy who lived in the same community. Overall, the story taught people that if we want something, we must work hard to get it. If I were to compare the movie with the second one, the second one showcased more dance moves and there were more dance performance by the actors. It's not an A-rated movie, but it's worth your time if you want to be entertained on lazy Friday afternoons.

6 am (Manila Time)

I am not a morning person but I woke up pretty early today. 6 am is somewhat early for someone who is more used to wake up at just around lunchtime everyday. From my window, I could see that it's a sunny day, and the sky looked blue. I could see the rays of the sun touching the buildings nearby. Looks like the weather is great (it's not humid at all).

Since I woke up pretty early, I hope that I could be productive today and that I could accomplish a lot of things. Let procrastination fly out of the window. :)

Back to Books

One of the things I dearly miss since I had spent most of my time online, is reading a book (I am referring to the paperbacks, not e-books). I miss having to snuggle up in bed and read, sometimes even sleep, with a good book. This afternoon, I visited the bookstore, and looked for a book that I think I would have a nice time reading on my free time. There were lots that caught my attention but of course, I cannot afford to buy them all at the moment.

At first, I was choosing among the following books: Brida (by Paulo Coelho), Nights in Rodanthe (by Nicholas Sparks), Twilight (by Stephenie Meyer). However, while I was looking for other books, I found out that they have Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now. I wanted to get a copy of this book for a long time now. I first saw this one a few months ago at Powerbooks in SM Megamall, but, I do not have extra money to spare at that time. I got a copy of the book today, however, I haven't started reading it yet. I guess, I will take time off from my online activities tomorrow to have a nice sweet time with my new book.

When I was sick for days, my dad would drop by my place everyday (sometimes even twice a day) to bring me food, medicine and things that I need. He also works here in the city, plus where he works is near the area where I rent a place.

I am very grateful that even if he is busy with his work, he would try to use his extra time to come visit me when I was sick. Here in the city, he had always been my lifeline. Whenever I need something or I am in an emergency, he never failed to come see me. I am really thankful that I have a dad like him. Although, in our family, we are not very expressive (especially verbally) about how we value each other, I know that my father loves me, my siblings and of course mom a lot.

Allergies!

I think I would need to turn this into a health blog (no, I am kidding). After having flu for almost a week, next I get is allergies. My hands, arms, feet and legs were affected. It was so itchy that it was driving me crazy. I took Celestamine (cute pink tablets) for itch relief but I still feel some of the itchy sensation. I think my body is experiencing one of the side effects of the table tbecause after I take the medicine, I would feel very sleepy. Thanks goodness it makes me sleep even if I itch a lot. The first day I had the allergies attack, I was not able to sleep at all due to discomfort.

All I really want right now is to be able to have a good rest and wake up the next day without having to worry about illness of any sort.

She's Bored...

One of the people that I frequently talk to online is my sister. Since I was not feeling well, the least I could do is reply to her offline messages. Tired of Being Sick!

I feel a lot better now but I have not fully recovered yet. I am tired of being sick! lol I had been in bed for 5 days now and I am starting to feel that my body is getting stiff (bedsores, I think). At home, whenever the mood hits me, I enjoy re-doing how the pieces of furniture are put together. Aside from that, I also make sure that the other decoration matches the living room set. Everything should be coordinated. Before starting this chore, I look into magazine which features houses of celebrities and other famous people.
