Cool Slideshow

It has been a while since I created a slide show. I looked into my files for pictures that I could use and voila(!), all I could find are pics of me (vain, vain, vain... I know!). These pics were taken a few months ago, back on those days when I was sporting a long hair do. I used Roxio to create my own slideshow. Unlike other sites, I love their features because it offers a fresher style, a funkier appeal!

I suggest that you try the features of Roxio online if you want to make a cool and unique slideshow. You can also include background music in your slideshow, plus other cool effects that will make it really interesting.

You have been sent 10959 Entrecard credits

Two weeks ago, I logged in to my Entrecard account and I was so surprised that there was a very significant increase in my EC credits. I was rushing that day, so I thought it was just a glitch in the system. I checked it again later than that and it's real, I do have 10959 added to my credits. Normally, I exhaust my ec credits to advertise on other blogs. I kept wondering who sent me those credits.

Two days later, I checked my email (I have an individual email address for everything lol) and noticed an unread message from the support of Entrecard. It says there that I was sent credits from a fellow blogger since he would be closing his EC account. That left me wondering what happened to him and why of all the bloggers, he would give them to me. I was happy to receive those credits but I felt sad that he would leave the blogosphere because he's really a good blogger. As I see it, he does it more for hobby's sake and not for monetary gain. I admit, I do it for money (aside from the hobby thing).

So I sent him an email asking why he decided to leave. He told me that it is due to health reasons. He's blog no longer exists the last time I checked it. I had been very touched by his gesture for sending me those credits. He gave them to me because I was the earliest blogger that was enlisted at his MyBlogLog account :).

He's one of those bloggers that writes from the heart. Aside from that, if you have noticed, he was
one of those who would leave substantial comments on your posts. It would really make you appreciate him for sharing his thoughts because you know that he had read what you have to say and he's also generous in sharing his opinion.

Wind Mill (the author of Wind Mill of My Mind), God Bless you and I am praying for your health. I am sure that your presence in the blogosphere is deeply missed. We hope to see you blog again someday...

Web Hosting Rating

When looking for a web host provider, one must do a thorough research on which among them are the best one. A web site owner or a blogger like me would always take in consideration, uptime, reliability, price and of course customer service. We can always get feedback from other blog owners, but since different owners would have different preferences and priorities, we can look at web hosts rating sites to see the collective opinion of people regarding these providers. According to webhostingrating.com, included in the lists of "Best Web Hosts 2008" are InMotion, Web Hosting Pad, Globat, Bluehost, Hostmonster, Yahoo! Hosting. The list is based on customer satisfaction, affordability, reliability, uptime and techical support. For me, the cheapest is not necessarily the best buy, but also, the best web hosts, does not have to costs you a fortune. It should be a balance of these factors that were mentioned. For me, the most important is that, my site should be running all the time.

Thank You Entrecarders!

Like some bloggers who would usually say thank you to those who have been visiting their site and giving them EC drops, it's again time for me to show some love to my loyal EC droppers.

Here's the top Entrecard droppers for the Month of August.

Diet Pulpit 31
Stir The Cauldron 31
read my mind 31
Mobile eBook Etc 30
Personal Finance Management Guide 30
glitchline 30
Our Journey to Forever 30
Lainy's Musings 29
Shearyadi's World 28
Urutora no Hi 28

Aside from having to mention these sites, I would also like to tell my sister "Thanks a million". She has been doing the EC drops for me for a month now. I wonder what would she ask me to give her in exchange for this favor? I have been trying to convince her to blog too, but she's always too busy for it (haha, excuses!).

Worst Pick Up Lines

For more widgets please visit www.yourminis.com

There are some guys who think they sound cool with their pick up lines but then, their pick up lines would just make them sound like real jerks. I think the worst I heard was from the movie Mean Girls. Those were the days when Lindsay Lohan really looked so adorable.

At the school canteen, this guy named Jason said this line to Cady. "Is your muffin buttered?" Cady was shocked, so the jerk had to repeat his question. "Would you like us to assign someone to butter your muffin?". I wonder what does he exactly mean by buttering a muffin? Too bad, this guy won't have a chance of winning the Extreme Style by VO5 Ultimate Flirting Championship.

That line will certainly keep an the guy from achieving Victory Hair. Curious what Victory Hair is? If you still manage to have sexy hair under pressure, then that's it.

Summer Box Office Top Ten

I am an avid moviegoer. My friends and I love to watch movies at the theaters. We were sort of disappointed when we learned that the latest series of Harry Potter movie will not be shown until July 2007. Anyway, here is the countdown of the top 10 films of the summer, from the first of May to through August 24th.

1. THE DARK KNIGHT - $489.4 million
2. IRON MAN - $317.5 million
3. INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL - $315.3 million
4. HANCOCK - $226.3 million
5. WALL-E - $216.2 million
6. KUNG FU PANDA - $212.6 million
7. SEX AND THE CITY - $152.3 million
8. THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN - $141.5 million
9. THE INCREDIBLE HULK - $134.4 million
10. WANTED - $133.7 million

*Figures provided by BoxOfficeMojo.com.

Seven of those movies, I have seen at the theaters. I was with my mom when I saw Sex and the City. It was really entertaining and hilarious. I haven't seen Iron Man, Indiana Jones and Wall-E yet. Maybe in DVD's soon.

After playing the game Extreme Style by VO5 's Ultimate Flirting Championship, I was thinking of asking my friends to rate me when it comes to my flirting skills. By nature, I am the shy type and never (?!) in my entire life did I asked a guy out even if there was a point when I was dying to do that. Curious about the flirting game I am talking about? Think about a memorable line now and see if it would let you win in the Ultimate Flirting Championship.

This reminds me of the movie Jerry Maguire. Renee Zellweger looked really cute when she delivered that line "You had me at hello". Well, there's no harm in trying if that would mean I can have my own Jerry Maguire.

But more than the word's, I think the way you move your body or flip those Victory Hair would give you a higher chances of getting THAT guy's attention.

FROG SQUATS: Best Exercise for Thighs and Butt

I want to stay in shape but most of the time, I am too lazy to exercise. That's why I really did hard to convince myself that I should start doing something good for my body. Taking care of our body now would be very beneficial to us, even later on when we grow old. I was planning to do jogging but I leave in a very busy street, hence i just resorted to using a jumping rope workout for my cardio.

My friend, who I would like to think is an expert on that matter, made a work-out routine for me. I do it alternately. There are days that I do arms and chest workout and for some days I have to do my legs and abs routine.

My favorite workout for my thighs and butt is this one on this video.

Banzai Fix

I was reading about the instructions on how to play Banzai and suddenly, I had this nostalgic feeling all over me. Oh, I won't get dramatic about it. It's just that when I used to live with my family (my siblings still stay with my parents), we love to play games and love it more when we beat each other on those games. We play board games, Play Station, and Computers games. It was pretty ideal because there were four of us.

When we learn new games, we try to convince each other to give it a try. I would visit them soon and I can't wait to tell them about Banzai. For those who are not familiar with it, it's actually a betting game where players bet plastic sushi on outcome of bizarre Banzai stunts from hit the TV show of same name. This sounds pretty exciting and I think, my siblings would have fun playing this game as well. We love to play and laugh at the same time. Players race to fill the betting bowl with fake sushi pieces using only chopsticks. Whoever wins all the sushi is the winner.

Sounds addicting? You can also download some free stuff from the site. I got this wallpaper for free. :)

ScreenLife Games is at it again. They launched a new Banzai game. Check it out:

PPP to Manually Audit Blogs in their System

I have signed up this blog for PPP but the last time that I wrote an opp for them using this blog is months ago. Since my connection and my computer is annoyingly sloooow, I did not have the patience to chase those opps. For PPP opps, I have utilized my other blog (which is currently in hiatus) more.

Just recently, PPP announced in their blog that they would be cleaning out what they think are junk blogs in the system. They are going to manually audit every blog in our system. That seems to be a lot of work for them, but it seems that that is the only means for them to ensure that they community is composed of quality blogs.

Personally, I am happier with Social Spark. I think it's more of the reason that I just have to reserve an opportunity and see if my blog had been chosen. I do not have to stress out on chasing the opps. Plus SS seems to have cooler opps. What I mean by this is that, the topic are more interesting.

Here's a part of the announcement:

If your blog fails the audit you will receive an email notification and will no longer be able to use that blog to take opportunities. You will still be paid for any outstanding posts that are currently in process and pass review. You will not be able to resubmit your blog for inclusion at this time.

If your blog passes the audit you will also receive an email letting you know you made the cut. It's going to take at least 30 days to complete the audit so please be patient.

Good Luck to us. :)

4 Cheap Web Hosting

If there is no financial constraints, I think most bloggers would like to have their blogs to be self-hosted. There are a lot of web hosting companies right now and before you decide to sucsbribe to a service, obviously, you should do your research well. This is to avoid encountering more problems later on with the web hosts company you have chose. One thing you should look into is the feedback of other people regarding these web hosting companies. Also, read reviews about the companies so that you would have an idea on what others say about them.

A useful site which could provide you the information you need regarding this matter is 4CheapWebHosting. Of course, we would want to save on money, but doing so, we must make sure that we also get good service from the web host provider. 4CheapWebHosting is a complete unbiased guide to inexpensive Web hosting services. When you visit the site, you can browse their list of Web hosting services featuring their 4Value Rating. Their 4Value Rating System Information is a way of rating the companies based on some factors. So the higher the rating is, the better chances for this web hosts providers to be included in the top-10 web hosting company list.

Hence, if you are looking for hosting package at an affordable price, I suggest you visit 4CheapWebHosting so that you can decide soon and start that blog or online business running.

Jollibee to buy Beijing-based resto chain

When I was younger, I remember my friends would have that talk on which fast food chain is better, is it Jollibee or McDonald's? It was a never-ending debate. My favorite is the cheeseburger meal from Jollibee. Jolibee had been a household name here in the Philippines ever since I was young (or maybe even before I was born).

Jollibee Foods Corp had come a long way. It is set to acquire the entire stake of a chain of restaurants in China. JFC is said to buy Hongzhuangyuan for a price of P2.5 billion. Hongzhuangyuan currently operates 31 restaurants in Beijing and six in other cities in China. The JFC group seems to be getting bigger. Included in the corporation are 115 Yonghe King restaurants and one CST in China; 17 Jollibee, 23 Red Ribbon, and 13 Chowking in the US. Jollibee Fastfood chain is indeed a Filipino pride.

iLASIK Information

At a considerably young age, I have a 150/150 vision. It seems that I would resort to some kind of medication or procedure later on in order for me to gain my 20/20 eye vision back. Hence, I am interested to write about the LASIK technology. I guess most of us are familiar with LASIK, but iLASIK may be a new term for some of us. So what's the difference between these two? iLASIK™ is known as the modern LASIK. iLASIK procedure uses two lasers instead of one, as in earlier versions of the said procedure.

iLASIK which is an all-laser form of iLASIK has been tapped by the Department of Defense (DOD) and NASA to improve the vision of specialized personnels. Notable results of the military’s evaluation of iLASIK in 100 military personnel showed that 95% achieved 20/20 uncorrected vision or better. I think this is a very good result. I hope that someday, I would be able to undergo an iLASIK as well. Our eyesight is very important. It helps see the beauty of the world and the people we love clearly. Hence, I am very glad that I came across this modern LASIK information. A lot of people have benefited from this technology. Are you the next one?

Complaining Too Much

Recently, I noticed that I had been complaining too much. I realized that I am becoming unreasonable. Fortunately, I am around people that are very understanding. But still, that should be more of a reason that I stop being a pain in the butt.

It dawned on me that before I open my mouth to complain, I should re-asses the situation first. Sometimes, there are things we cannot change and we should just accept it the way it is as long as it does not hurt you or the people you love. Well, it seems that I am ranting about some vague topic here. But it's just me. :)

Hanging Out at the Bookstore

I live 5 minutes away from the mall. It has a spacious bookstore where customers could read copies of books and magazines that are open. I was feeling bored today, hence, I decided to go to the bookstore and find something interesting to read. I do buy magazines such as Cosmopolitan and other beauty magazines. I am also into reading magazines filled with celebrity gossips. However, personally, I feel like buying those kind is a waste of money. However, I really enjoy reading about them. It's my guilty pleasure. Well, I was able to do that today. But I was only able to read about local celebrities.

Actually, I realized after that, I do not need to go to the mall. I could just read them online. :)

Finally, it's weekend

I have been waiting for the weekend so that I can finally have time to do my blogging activities. and household chores that I have been putting off for days now I should be updating my other blogs as well. It's also time for me to do some opps. I have missed a lot of opportunities lately. because this week had been very busy one for me. I remember a friend telling me that "being busy" is a good thing because that would mean you are doing something. Well, there's some truth to what he said but of course, from time to time, I am looking for some ways to relax and just do nothing. I was pretty satisfied with how productive I am this week (but it has nothing to do with my online life). Being able to balance my time is the key to being more productive both online and offline.

Getting My Page Rank back

Last night, while I was updating this blog, I was surprised to see that I got my Page Rank back. Sometime last July, I lost my PR3. Actually, if it was because of paid blogging, I think that would be unfair because all I engage during that time was blogging about advertisers in Social Spark. In SS, we are required to put "no follow" on our links. However, during that time, I was no longer
PR-conscious that's why I did not really bother me when I was penalized. I admit that when I was still new in blogging, I aimed for higher PR's. But later on, I became contented of this blog being an outlet of my rants, personal thoughts and a record of the interesting information I find online. What I aimed more was for my blog to have higher traffic. I think that's more important than Page Rank.

However, I am glad that my PR turned green again. But until when?

Favorite Great American Seafood Recipe

The Louisiana Seafood Promotion & Marketing Board (LSPMB) and NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association) recently presented the Fifth Annual Great American Seafood Cook Off last August 2 and 3.

The challenge of the said cook off is for those top chefs to present their recipes with domestic, sustainable seafood from their home state. Mississippi’s Chef John Currence beat 14 other prestigious chefs from across the nation during the said cook off.

For those who miss this one, you can still have a chance to participate. You can do this by casting your vote on which recipe is the best. If you would you like to have a chance to to win a "Trip to New Orleans" prize package including two Southwest Airline roundtrip tickets, hotel accommodations, and dining experiences, then, I encourage you to vote for your favorite recipe at the People’s Choice Recipe Contest. This time, you would only have to choose among 5 recipes. This includes Colorado Striped Bass Panzanella, Pan Roasted Glazed Rockfish with Peas and Carrots, Mississippi Redfish Courtboullionwith Seafood Dirty Rice, Texas Gulf Shrimp and Louisiana Shrimp and Andouille Cassoulet.

Since I consider myself to be a "rice person" and I love seafoods as well, I chose the recipe by Chef John Currence, the Mississippi Redfish Courtboullion with Seafood Dirty Rice. You can actually download the recipe from the site. I think I will try to learn how to cook this one to impress my family. Why not, there are lots of benefits of using domestic seafood. It's fresh, has a great taste and you can get it locally.

If you want to learn more about this great cook off, please visit www.GreatAmericanSeafoodCookOff.com.

New Cadillacs Harrisburg PA

Are you thinking of purchasing a Cadillac but still seemed confused on which model you should buy? If I would have it my way, I would go for Cadillac SRX. This is ideal for family-oriented buyers who wants roomy but more compact vehicle for work or play.

So Little Time

Lately, I find myself singing Arkarna's So Little Time because this has been what I am feeling right now. Well, I am not dedicating it to anyone in particular. I have so many things to do and time seems to be not enough. Maybe, I am just not doing well when it comes to allotting my time on things that I should be doing.

Here's a part of the song that has been playing in my head for a while now because I feel like I am running out of time. It was the theme-song for the short-lived sitcom of the same title which starred the power duo Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

Took a while to drag me out of bed,
Aim some coffee at my head,
Saw the clock I'm running late,
It's an ordinary day.
And I'm like a dog on heat,
Knock one out and then fall asleep,
It's sad but true,
I'd rather be with you

Don't you forget about me,
When you're a celebrity,
It will be only you and me
Before too long.

So little time so much to do,
I'd rather spend my days with you,
So little time so much to do,
I'd like to spend one day with you,
And if that day is not enough,
Maybe we can stay in touch,
But I'm not making plans for tomorrow,
For tomorrow never comes.

Looking for Used Cadillacs?

Who would not wish to own a luxury car such as Cadillac? Cadillac is a brand of luxury vehicles, part of General Motors, produced and mostly sold in the United States and Canada. If you are one of those who prefer a Cadillac, I could say that it's a good choice since the brand is synonymous within the United States for "high quality".

However, I noticed that most people nowadays are smart buyers. There's always a good deal available if you do a good research before you continue with a purchase. If you want to own a Cadillac but would prefer to get a used one, I would suggest that you go to Sutliff Cadillac's page. This is recommended for those who reside within 50 miles of Harrisburg, PA.

Sutliff Cadillac has an incredible inventory of used Cadillacs. When it comes to credibility, you can count on them. Getting in Touch with My Girly Side

When I started blogging, I just post whatever I felt writing at that time. I was not focused on a specific topic. Randomness is the keyword. Being random for the time being taught me a lot and made me discover to which area of interest should I concentarte on. After 9 months of being in the blogosphere, I finally found my niche. I realized that it would be fun if I write about something that I really enjoy. When I am not blogging, I love reading and researching about the latest trends, reading celebrity (shallow) gossips, and beauty care. I found that to be my guilty pleasure. Hence, I decided to come up with a blog that would be more in tune with my girly side. I now present to you.... Pink Hues. Yes, that blog is so me! ;)

Turning A Year Older

It was a significant day for the man I love and admire the most. I am referring to my father. My dad turned a year older yesterday ( I do not think he would want me to divulge his age here.) Growing up, I was never really expressive of how I much I love and appreciate my parents. But yesterday, I was able to send a message to my dad telling him that I love him a lot. Three days from now, it would be my mom's turn to be a year older. My folks are getting older, that must also mean that I am getting older too. Apparently, we all get older. But for me, age is just a number, It's not an indicator of how mature a person is or how prepared he/she is to tackle challenges in life. Well, I am working on it, so that at least, I could tell myself that turning a year older, made me wiser.

Have you seen the Sproutwells?

What if a new family moved in your neighborhood? They seem to be a typical family but they are fruit and veggie family living among humans. You should see the video to know what I am talking about. I have watched it myself and it seems really funny. Watch how the Sproutwells try to fit in our world.

Well, if I would be a vegetable, I would choose to be a lettuce. Maybe because it has something to do with the fact that I love salad.

If you find this video entertaining, I encourage you to share this video to your friends to make their day brighter.

Operation Immortality

If the world is coming to an end and there's only one thing I could bring with me, no doubt about it, I would have to bring my computer to the new world where we would be going. My computer contains a lot of files that are important to me. If you would browse through all the files in my pc then, you would really know a great deal about me and my life. A large portion of the files consists of pictures of my family, friends, and random pictures of just about anything that is significant to me. If we are transfer to the new world, at least with these files saved in my computer, I would be able to bring some of my memories from planet Earth to the new world.

Besides, during my free time, I can cheer myself up with playing games in my computer. Do you know about the game Tabula Rasa? Tabula Rasa is an action-packed sci-fi massively multiplayer online (MMO) game that puts players in the middle of a never-ending fight for freedom against the alien race known as the Bane. If you want to experience playing this game for free, you can take advatange of their 7-day free trial (no credit card required!). Also, I urge you to participate in Operation Immortality: Leave your mark. Save Humanity. Operation Immortality is an event in which Richard Garriott, the creative force behind the Ultima series and the massively multiplayer PC game Tabula Rasa, will take a storage device into space to archive information about the human race. This will give participants a chance to leave their mark on the future and help save humanity from possible extinction.

Both of My Parents are Leo

This month is an important month for me because both my mom and dad would be celebrating their birthdays. Their birthdays are four days apart. Both of them are born under the zodiac sign of Leo, so you can imagine how it is to be growing up with parents who both think their are king and queen of the jungle. lol I have no complaints at all with their parenting skills. I love and admire both of them. They have their share of strengths and weaknesses but overall, they are amazing people. I am very grateful and I feel very blessed for having them as my parents.

Being breast aware

To be breast aware means becoming familiar with how your breasts look and feel, whatever your age. Understand how your breasts may change at different times during the month (when you're having your period) and as you get older.

These are the changes to look for and if you are in any doubt, visit your doctor:

* A lump or thickening which is different to the rest of the breast tissue
* Continuous pain in one part of the breast or armpit
* One breast becomes larger or lower
* A nipple becomes inverted or changes shape or position
* Skin changes including puckering or dimpling
* Swelling under the armpit or around the collarbone
* A rash on or around the nipple
* Discharge from one or both nipples

Remember the breast awareness five-point code:

1. Know what is normal for you
2. Look and feel
3. Know what changes to look for
4. Report any changes without delay
5. Attend routine breast screening if you are aged 50 and over
