Gucci Gang Scandal- Philippines' version of the Cruel Intentions

I had not been very much up-to-date with what's happening in the blogosphere lately. As I was bloghopping on one of my friend's blogs, I came across Elaine's recent post and I was surprised that it has something to do with the so-called young elites of the Philippines' social circle being the subject of an scandal. It's not a sexual scandal but it has something to do with substance abuse and the credibility of some people.

One of the hot targets includes Celine Lopez. For those who are not that familiar with her face, she's the image model of Plains and Prints (aside from Gretchen Barretto). I had been a fan of Celine's column in Philippine Star (that was when I had still time to read newspapers). According to the blog that is creating all these buzz now, Celine does not do the write ups herself, it was written by a ghostwriter. That is disappointing because I really liked 'her' writing style (regardless of her 'whatever' topic).

The blog created by Brian Gorell, is a tell-all story of the shameful things that he knows about the so-called Gucci Gang which includes the likes of Celine Lopez, Tim Yap, Wendy Puyat and the blog writer's ex-boyfriend Dj Montano. How did this all start? Brian has been swindled (money totaling to $70,000) by his then-boyfriend Dj Montano and now Brian is making an expos of what he knows about these people in a form of blog.

Seems like the blog is a tool for revenge but I am not here to take sides about their issue. This happening just proves how powerful a blog could be when someone wants to taint other's reputation. Brian's blog even landed a page on Wikipedia. I cannot blame the writer of the said blog because according to him, he had been done wrong with the people he used to hang out with. I am not sure when their issue would reach a resolution, let's just see what happens.

How to Display Recent Posts and Recent Comments on Blogger

I had been using WordPress on my other blog and it's a lot easier to add page elements or plug-ins on Wordpress compared to Blogger. However, we can also add "Recent Posts and Recent Comments on our blogger.

Recent Posts

Just go to Layout and follow these steps:

1. Click on Add a Page Element on the side bar of your choice.
2. Look for the FEED page element and click on add this to blog.
3. On the Feed URl type http://SITENAME.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default.
For my blog, I have to type http://dpositiveside.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default

4. After clicking on the Continue button, you will be redirected to a page that looks like this:

5. You can actually Edit the Title. Just Click on Save Changes when you're done with it.

Recent Comments

For Step #3, on the Feed URl type http://SITENAME.blogspot.com/feeds/comments/default. Don't forget to change SITENAME to your blog url. Follow the rest of the steps. It is similar to displaying the Recent Posts.

From experience, Entrecard had been a means of getting more traffic to my other blog. Hence, I had also chosen to display an Entrecard widget here on my new blog.

I would be giving away 300 EC's each for 3 of my top ten card droppers. Therefore, it's still random but I would only choose among the top ten.

The fastest way to drop cards on other member's site is by using SiteHoppin's Entrecard Browser. So far, I find it to be the most convenient way to drop EC's. Blogger's Dilemma

My other blog got approved by PPP. It is a common knowledge by everyone in the blogosphere that most of those who use PPP had been penalized by Google by stripping them off their Page Rank. Some might say that PR is not really a big deal but I bet majority of us would of course like a PR higher than 0. Now I am faced with this dilemma, should I play by Google's rule or should I take the opportunity of earning bucks from PPP?

The Procrastinator

One of the things that tops my list of "I do not like about me" is my chronic procrastination. I have been forcing myself to improve on this area but I can make up lots of excuses before I stick to my promise. I have that 5-minutes delaying tactic every time I am suppose to start on something, from getting out of bed to getting ready for work.

Last December, I incurred an x number of late. Well I am not disclosing the figure since it is far from acceptable. Since we have a new supervisor, I was motivated to go to work on time but that includes 'running' to work, literally. I am my team's buzzer-beater. With this forced exercise and perspiration that I get daily, I think I could now consider being a track-and-field athlete.

Another thing that I had been putting off for the longest time is requesting new identification cards. My bag was stolen last December, which includes my wallet, cellphones and other valuables in it. The things that I wished I could get back were my ID's. Requesting for new ID's here in my country will put you through a painstaking process and yes, it takes months. Acquiring a new Social security card here will take 1 month plus you need a lot of other documents, not to forget the fees that comes with claiming them. See, I could make up a lot of excuses which I deem to be valid. However, regardless of that, if I have requested a long time ago, I should have my new ID's by now.

Speaking of procrastination, I should have started cleaning my room last week, but I keep on delaying it. You see, I call my room an 'organized chaos' but a little tidiness would help me find things that I need more quickly. I will keep you posted about my number of tardiness per month, and oh, those ID's (sigh). For now, I would need to attend to my household chores. :)
